Error while modifying my email address

The email account I used for registration was dismissed. When logging in, I was asked to change my email since the old one was not working anymore. I entered the new (valid) email address, but in the browser an error message appeared (apparently linked to the server side program used to handle the request). I was able to enter my account, and in the personal settings I discovered that there was a confirmation pending for the new email address. But on that mailbox I did not receive any message to provide the confirm, probably due to the error above. I double checked the pending request notice, the new email address is typed correctly, so the reason for failure is elsewhere.
