CHAKNUL Naked and Sacred Hidden away in the semi-arid tropical forests of Mexico, Chaknul is a special retreat for naturists and spiritual seekers. The name means naked in the Mayan language. Known formerly as The Lemurian Embassy, this magical 50 acres acres of nature trails, cabaas, camping, fire circle, stone swimming pool and gardens is completely private, off-grid, and LGBT-owned. From Merida, take the 180 Libre (free road) to Libre Union. Turn toward Yaxcaba and drive 8.5 KM. We are KM 8.3 on the road between Yaxcaba and Libre Union. There is also regular bus service from Merida, Cancun, and Valladolid. Take the bus to Libre Union center and take a taxi to Chaknuul, 8.5 KM between Yaxcaba and Libre Union.
